Hi Everyone,
The wind is howling…. and you can feel magic is the air….
I hope everyone is preparing for some spine tingling stories for this haunting month or just a few not so scary ones as well…
October meeting at Mountain Brew
We met on October 3rd and talked about how to build audience participation into our telling. There are several ways to add participation by involving the audience with asking questions, including repetition, call and response, movements that you can add and choosing stories that include participation. Here are a couple of books you can get at the library that encourage audience participation:
- All of Margaret Read MacDonald’s books
Check out these two for a selection of stories: Shake it up tales / Twenty Tellable Tales
Here is a short article about Making Stories Participatory by Doug Lipman
Up Coming Events:
Wednesday November 15 at Strawberry Park Elementary
After school Adventure Club: 3:40 – 5:00
Tellers Sherrie Ford, David Moulton, Trish Carpenter, Sherry Holland
Date Change for November Meeting!
We will meet at Mountain Tap Brewery at 5:15
(910 Yampa St #103, Steamboat Springs)
Mark your Calendars: our next meeting is Wednesday November 8th rather that Tuesday the 7th, due to a conflict I have for a library event.
Hope you can make it.
